Last week I had a special makeup class delivered by Bobbi Brown staff, to learn about the hottest trend in the beauty industry: strobing – the next level in highlighting.
Through a combination of skincare and makeup products that make your facial skin glow, the strobing technique provides a highlighted look by focusing on areas where natural light hits your face, such as the cheek bones, bridge of the nose, tip of the chin, center of the forehead, upper lips and brow bone.
As not all women wish to have a deep glowing look (including Bobbi Brown herself), you’ll find here some tips and explanations for creating a wide spectrum strobing technique, from a natural highlighted look to a full glowing look.
So, what did I learn?
Face: apply illuminating moisturizer under your foundation to create a fresh skin look and a gentle glow. I apply the light-reflective pearl cream that makes my skin look healthy and luminous from within and the truth is that I’m a bit addicted to it now.
Cheeks: combine a bronzer together with the glow created by the highlight to create an everyday glow. Apply shimmer on the high areas of the cheek bones in the direction of the forehead, bridge of the nose and chin. The shimmer we used contains tiny pearls that reflect the light perfectly. It is important to apply it focally and only on the upper areas of the face.
Eyes: to highlight your eyes, choose a light eye shadow that complements your skin tone and apply it on your brow bones and the inner corners of the eyes. Cream shadows in light shimmery shade are especially recommended.
