Last week I happened to volunteer in several events where I met some lovely women and girls who told me, more than once, about different, new things, that don’t fit them and there is no point to even try even though they’d really love to.
That made me think quite a bit and I was reminded of Diana Vreeland, one of the most powerful, influential women in the fashion industry.
Diana started her career at the magazine Harper’s Bazaar in a weekly column called “Why Don’t You?” where she made her readers interesting suggestions, such as washing one’s hair in champagne for getting golden color as the French women do, wearing a tulle bow on one’s arm, wearing a fruit hat – or in a nut shell – dare.
So, why don’t you dare to be who you are and do what you feel like? Why don’t you try? Life is too short to not try and dare or hide behind all sorts of masks and inconveniencies.
Wish us all a happy holiday full of good stuff!
